Pitchesto // LEGAL SPECIFICATION
Cookie Policy
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits that store or read identifiers. This Policy explains how Pitchesto uses them with our Service. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in and secure sessions
- Remember workspace context needed for authenticated requests
- Protect against abuse (for example CSRF or unlock flows where applicable)
- Enable payment flows operated by Stripe
- Understand basic reliability of the Service (server logs are not cookies but may accompany requests)
We do not currently operate a third-party advertising cookie network on the marketing site. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide choices where required.
3. Types of cookies
- Strictly necessary. Required for authentication, security, and core app function. The Service cannot operate correctly without them.
- Functional. Remember preferences or UI state when used.
- Analytics / performance. Only if we enable a product analytics provider; none are required for core use today.
- Third-party. Set by processors such as Firebase Auth or Stripe when you interact with their widgets or redirects.
4. Cookie and storage details
| Name / technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
pitchesto_session | Pitchesto | Firebase session cookie verifying you are signed in to the app | Session / limited lifetime aligned with auth policy |
| Firebase Auth storage | Google Firebase | Client-side auth state for sign-in flows | Per Firebase Auth defaults |
| Stripe cookies / storage | Stripe | Checkout, fraud prevention, Connect onboarding | Per Stripe policies |
| Unlock / share protection cookies (when used) | Pitchesto | Protect PIN or token-gated share experiences | Short-lived |
| Local storage / preferences (if used) | Pitchesto | UI preferences such as color scheme | Until cleared |
Exact cookie names set by Stripe or Firebase may vary; refer to their documentation for the authoritative list.
5. Third-party cookies
When you sign in with Google via Firebase, or complete a Stripe Checkout / Connect flow, those providers may set cookies subject to their own policies:
6. Your choices
- Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in and core app use.
- Sign out. Ending your session clears or invalidates the session cookie according to our auth flow.
- Do Not Track / GPC. We do not currently alter cookie behavior based on DNT signals for advertising because we do not run ad trackers; if we add analytics requiring consent, we will honor applicable opt-out signals where required.
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised, and material changes will be communicated where required by law.
